I have two reference books that I use for sewing: one french and one english. I just discovered this distinction between the two languages when it comes to seams:
(French seam in english; english seam in french. Hmmmm.)

(I never thought of anyone else reading this except myself, so never bothered to check for comments, strangely enough) BTW, I like your kitchen remodel; we bought a fairly new house 3 years ago, but are gradually suffering through renos bit by bit. More starting on Monday....
