I remember walking into a guesthouse at the end of one trip and thinking, "$10!! What, are they out of their minds! It's a double room with a shower - I wouldn't pay more than $5!".

Luckily I can usually get great things at my VV; I was eyeing a $5 silk sari (yes, all 6m of it!) the other day, but the colour was really strange and I had to force myself to put it down and away from it.Another Sewing Scientisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02945784360747028884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2433539191806188695.post-4611468328314823092011-10-17T11:18:02.672-04:002011-10-17T11:18:02.672-04:00Oh,it's so cute! If it's a great big piece, you can get it for a steal, but often the price for smaller pieces works out fairly high---especially if it's an unusual fabric like this. Ah, well. As you pointed out, still a lot cheaper than the plane-ticket to Asia.

I've never seen "Hair" but man did I listen to my mom's old LP of it like crazy when I was in high school...

(Oh, and I love your Mena pose)Tanit-Isishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15824217102632813598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2433539191806188695.post-47300484868627085002011-10-16T19:23:51.853-04:002011-10-16T19:23:51.853-04:00I'm really lucky that there is such amazing fa...I'm really lucky that there is such amazing fabric at the Villages des Valeurs in Montreal. I always see sarongs (cotton or rayon), and often saris or African prints. There is always a tear or stain, but with a bit of creative cutting, you'd never know the difference!Another Sewing Scientisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02945784360747028884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2433539191806188695.post-39175700530980215882011-10-15T19:48:49.842-04:002011-10-15T19:48:49.842-04:00The fabric was perfect.
