A) I fixed my Jungle January bag, and I now actually USE it. The fabric straps do tend to slip off my shoulder because we are still firmly in winter parka season, and my jacket is coated in slippery waterproof coating, but meh.
B) I've done some alterations, which are long overdue. I have a lot of clothes that are almost perfect and an hour or two would turn them into a wardrobe staple, but you know how those kind of projects are the least interesting.
C) I've been hemming curtains, but that is so boring that most people won't even read to the end of this sentence and will never notice when I start typing about flying monkeys instead.
But I suppose that the biggest sewing related news on my mind these days is #NYlon2014! After spending a long (long long long long) cold winter stuck inside, watching BBC dramas, and reading British fiction, I started dreaming of a mini break in London. It's been >20 years since I've spent any time there, but I didn't really have an excuse to spend the time or money. So what do I do when Rachel announces that there is going to be a trans-atlantic meet-up to bring NYC and London folks together? I start flight searching!
So far I know that the North American contingent includes Clio, Devra, Jennifer and me for sure, and Oona is a maybe. CarmencitaB is popping over the channel. The list of UK ladies (and gents!) is growing every day, so it's sure to be an amazing day ;)
Go here for more information and use the #NYlon2014 tag on twitter to keep up to date.
I'm in the city for a few days before and after that, so let me know if you're coming along and if you'd like to do some touristing together. I'm going to buy tickets soon to see Andrew Scott in Birdland at the Royal Court on one of my free evenings, so if you're interested, send me an email!
Ooooooo, I'm so excited!
Ummmmmm……what am I going to sew?!?!?
